McCook Winter Sports Information
Dear Parents and Fans
Due to Covid-19 and the Directed Health Measures we will need to abide by the following regulations at this time.
We will only be allowing household family members to attend activities in our facilities. This will require us to have a list of household members at the ticket booths and only those members listed will be allowed to purchase a ticket or use their activity ticket.
At the YMCA we will not be able to have parents attend the contests inside the building. At 25% capacity it only allows for 42 people to be in the pool area this will create a challenge for us to host a swim meet with just the athletes involved. Instead we will be broadcasting the meets on our McCookBison.tv on the McCookBison.org website. You are also welcome to view from the windows outside if weather permits.
When traveling to away contests we need to be abiding by the regulations that each school has set in place. This might mean we don’t get enough tickets for all family members.
Also, these new guidelines will not allow us to have a student section or a pep band.
All of our spectators, workers, coaches, and non-participating athletes will:
- Be wearing a mask or we will remove themselves from the building.
- Social distancing themselves from other household groups
- Not go onto the court at the conclusion of the game.
- Not greet their athletes until we are away from the gym.
Leave the facility at the conclusion of our game.
Our first varsity home basketball contest will be done differently trying to keep our attendance down by playing varsity contests at the high school and junior varsity contests at the junior high. Girls Varsity at the same time as Boys JV etc.
We may need to clear the gyms between games to allow for enough room to social distance. At this time we are asking you to remove yourself from the gym at the conclusion of your son or daughters game to allow us to not have to clear the gym.
During this time we ask all in attendance to be FLEXIBLE and UNDERSTANDING of these needed changes. This is certainly not what we all had signed up for but we feel it is necessary to try and give our kids an opportunity to participate in school activities.
