1868 Foundation Announces Winner of 2nd annual Truck Raffle

September 2, 2024. Grand Island, Nebraska – The Nebraska State Fair 1868 Foundation is thrilled to announce Leo Rayburn as the lucky winner of the 2024 GMC Sierra from Tom Dinsdale Automotive. The life-changing announcement was made at the Nebraska State Fair on September 2nd, the last day of the annual event.

The 2024 GMC Sierra, known for its rugged dependability and modern design, is a dream come true for Leo and his wife Yolanda.

"I can't believe I won!" said Rayburn. "This truck is going to make such a difference in my life. I am so grateful to the Nebraska State Fair 1868 Foundation for this incredible opportunity."

The raffle, in its second year, is more than just a chance to win a fantastic vehicle; it is one of several fundraising opportunities for the Nebraska State Fair 1868 Foundation. All proceeds raised from the raffle go towards supporting capital improvements for the Nebraska State Fair, ensuring that this cherished state tradition continues to grow and thrive. The funds will help enhance fairground facilities and experiences for visitors, maintaining the fair’s standing as a premier event in the state.

Lindsey Koepke, Executive Director of the 1868 Foundation, expressed her gratitude: "We are beyond excited for the Rayburn’s. Proceeds from the Truck Raffle will benefit Division winners competing in in the Large Market Animal Divisions in both 4-H and FFA at the State Fair and many other immediate needs as identified by the State Fair. Since 2010, the 1868 Foundation has provided the State Fair with over 2.1million in funding for improvements for the future of the State Fair.
