Alcohol Compliance Checks Held in Adams, Dawson Counties

FEBRUARY 29, 2024 (LEXINGTON, NEB.)  — Investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol have conducted alcohol compliance checks in multiple Nebraska counties in recent weeks.

During the afternoon hours of Friday, February 23, investigators conducted alcohol compliance checks in Dawson County. This project was supported by grant #93.959 under the SAMHSA Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, Region II Human Services, and the Nebraska DHHS Division of Behavioral Health.

In Dawson County, 15 businesses were inspected. One of those businesses sold alcohol to a minor, for a non-compliance rate of 7 percent. The business that sold alcohol to a minor was Casey’s #1747 in Lexington.

During the evening hours of January 25 and February 6, investigators conducted alcohol compliance checks in Adams County. This project was supported by grant #0560 from Area Substance and Alcohol Abuse Prevention in Hastings.

In Adams County, 30 businesses were inspected. One of those businesses sold alcohol to a minor for a non-compliance rate of 3 percent. The business that sold alcohol to a minor was Midtowne Mart in Hastings.

The businesses included convenience stores, grocery stores, restaurants, bars, and liquor stores. Businesses that sell alcohol to a minor are referred to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission. Clerks who sell alcohol to a minor are cited for procuring alcohol for a minor
