CCC News Release: Humanities Nebraska Speaker to Appear in Grand Island

            (Grand Island, Neb.) – Historian Jeff Barnes will present a program “Custer in Nebraska: The Royal Buffalo Hunt of 1872” at 2 p.m. on Oct. 25 at Central Community College-Grand Island.

            The presentation is offered free of charge by Humanities Nebraska, the Nebraska Cultural Endowment and CCC as part of the Humanities Nebraska Speakers Bureau.

            Barnes will share the fascinating tale and photographs of Nebraska’s “Buffalo Bill” Cody and Gen. George Armstrong Custer entertaining the Grand Duke Alexis of Russia for the last of the great buffalo hunts on the Great Plains.
