McCook City Council Holds Special Sports Complex Meeting

City of McCook

The McCook City Council had a special meeting on Wednesday at noon that went into executive session at 12:01 to 12:10 with respect for real estate purchase in regard to a sports complex. Upon their return, the motion and second was made to authorize city staff to negotiate a purchase agreement with John Walters to purchase property in regard to public infrastructure projects to include the city ball field facilities.

City Manager Nate Schneider had prepared statements that lasted 22 minutes to detail the timeline and events to bring our community to this moment for understanding and to dispel rumors.  The public was given time for questions and comments but mostly clarifying questions were asked along with a couple comments of support.  The motion to authorize city staff to negotiate the purchase of the land passed 5 to 0.
