FINAL SCORE: McCOOK __7__ HOLDREGE__0__
Comments from Head Coach Matt Wiemers: The girls had a super week of practice and wrapped up the regular season Thursday earning two final home duel wins against Adams Central and Holdrege. The girls close out the duel season with a 26-2 duel record. With the gusty winds, I was proud of the girls for adjusting their play to the conditions and it showed on the courts, as the team did not drop a match. Now we get to work preparing for the state tournament next Thursday and Friday at Woods. We are excited to see where the committee seeds us. We have played a challenging schedule and we are prepared to battle whomever we draw in the tournament. This is the first time throughout my coaching career that I can recall, having all our state entries have 30+ wins. That shows how successful this group of girls have been all season. Here are the final records the girls will take into state next week:
1 Singles-Abby Schneider 33-6
2 Singles-Brooklynn Gillen 38-0
1 Doubles-Izzy Clause/Roslyn Wiemers 41-1
2 Doulbes-Elizabeth McConville/Cassidy Rogers 31-5
