Nebraska Sorghum Field Day moves to Axtell in September

Nebraska Sorghum Board

LINCOLN, Neb. (Aug. 5, 2025) – Nebraska sorghum growers, agribusiness professionals and industry partners are invited to attend the 2025 Nebraska Sorghum Field Day on Mon., Sept. 8, at 5:00 p.m. The event is hosted by Nebraska Grain Sorghum Board Chair Scott Nelson at his farm near Axtell, with supper provided following the program.

“The Nebraska Sorghum Field Day is a great opportunity for growers to see research in action and have real conversations about what’s working in our fields,” said Nebraska Sorghum Executive Director Kristine Dvoracek-Jameson. “Whether you’re a producer, agronomist, or an industry partner, you’ll leave with information and connections you can put to work right away.”

Attendees will hear research updates and view side-by-side comparisons of sorghum varieties in the test plot. This year’s Field Day moves to Axtell after being held in Trenton in previous years.

“It’s exciting to host the Field Day in Axtell and showcase what’s happening in this part of the state,” said Nelson. “Moving the event allows us to highlight different growing conditions and give attendees a fresh perspective on how sorghum is performing across Nebraska.”

The event is open to the public, but registration is required. Sign up here.

Location & Directions:

The Field Day takes place at the sorghum test plot at the corner of Road 25 and Road F near Axtell, Nebraska. From the Minden/Axtell KAAPA Ethanol plant, turn south on Road 25 (west of the plant) and continue for four miles. The plot is on the east side of the road.
