NSP inmate death

November 21, 2024 (Lincoln, Neb.) – Kenneth Greer #211862, age 56, died today at a Lincoln hospital. Greer was incarcerated at the Nebraska State Penitentiary.

Greer’s sentence began on August 6, 2020. He was serving a 19-to-20-year sentence out of Douglas County for second degree assault.

While the cause of death has not yet been determined, Greer was being treated for a medical condition. As is the case whenever an inmate dies in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS), a grand jury will conduct an investigation.
